प्राचीन भारत का आर्थिक और सामाजिक इतिहास कृषि, व्यापार, शासन और सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं द्वारा आकार लेने वाली एक गतिशील सभ्यता को दर्शाता है। भूमि राजस्व, वाणिज्य और शहरीकरण ने आर्थिक समृद्धि को प्रभावित किया, जबकि पारिवारिक संरचना, धर्म और सामाजिक पदानुक्रम ने दैनिक जीवन को परिभाषित किया। इन पहलुओं ने सामूहिक रूप से भारत के ऐतिहासिक विकास और सामाजिक विकास में योगदान दिया। इस लेख में प्राचीन भारत के आर्थिक और सामाजिक इतिहास पर विभिन्न साहित्य के अध्ययन की समीक्षा करें। इसने निष्कर्ष निकाला कि प्राचीन भारत का आर्थिक और सामाजिक इतिहास कृषि, व्यापार और शासन द्वारा आकार लिया गया था। मौर्य और गुप्त दोनों काल के दौरान भूमि राजस्व आय का प्राथमिक स्रोत रहा, जो प्रशासनिक और सैन्य जरूरतों को पूरा करता था। सामाजिक संरचनाएं परिवार, धर्म और शहरीकरण से गहराई से प्रभावित थीं, जिससे सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान और आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिला। हालाँकि, अस्पृश्यता जैसी असमानताएँ बनी रहीं, जो सदियों से हाशिए पर पड़े समुदायों को प्रभावित कर रही थीं। सुधारकों के प्रयासों के बावजूद, 1950 में ही भारतीय संविधान ने अस्पृश्यता को समाप्त किया, कानूनी सुरक्षा और सामाजिक उत्थान सुनिश्चित किया। इन ऐतिहासिक गतिशीलता को समझने से भारत के आर्थिक और सामाजिक विकास में मूल्यवान अंतर्दृष्टि मिलती है।
